Adventure Lifestyle archery hunting Photography in the Sawtooth Mountains | Stanley Idaho Tourism PhotoShoot
Back in mid-September I spent a full day working for The Stanley Sawtooth Chamber of Commerce up in the beautiful Sawtooth Mountains. The Sawtooths are truly one of my favorite places in Idaho and for that matter in the world. Part of planning these adventure tourism photoshoots is planning really well around the light, which is tricky because of the big jagged mountains in all directions, but I have some incredible tools that allow me to see exactly what the light is going to be like, even when I’m planning all the way down in Boise.
Typically on these shoots for the Stanley Chamber I work with anywhere from 5-8+ businesses per full day of photography. The chamber and I together have developed a system that works really well for us to make sure we maximize the variation of content we create on any given day.
I started the morning off at sunrise with a lifestyle archery hunting photoshoot at an undisclosed top secret location :), with an amazing view of The Sawtooth Mountains.
Scott with Idaho Rocky Mountain Ranch, the archer in these photos and I 4x4’d our way up a steep hill in an electric Polaris side by side before sunrise, for this spectacular view of the Sawtooths. The morning was cool and crisp, and the light was incredible.
One of my favorite thing about doing these photoshoots for Stanley, and really all photoshoots, is the awesome people I get to meet and spend time with. Scott was so great and generous with his time, and I was only able to use this amazing location because of him (but he did say it is available to use on other commercial photoshoots, so if you’re interested in using it, hit me up).
We shared stories of our mountain biking crashes and broken bones as we wandered around taking photos in the hills with this spectacular background.
I’ll let the photos tell the story from here, but for reference we were able to take all of these photos (and more) in only 45 minutes, excellent planning makes all of the difference.
Tremendous thank you to Scott for his generosity on his time and helping me figure out an amazing location and thank you to the Stanley Sawtooth Chamber of Commerce for trusting me with this project.
