An Authentic Boise Branding Photoshoot with Paige W Lee

I love my work as a branding photographer in Boise, but it’s not just because of my love for photography (even though I really do love it). It’s because of all of the amazing people that I get to meet, spend time with and hear their stories and the work they’re doing in the world.

I recently did a half day branding photoshoot for Paige W. Lee, who is a grief educator, author and spiritual guide. Paige’s last photoshoot had been done awhile ago and she came to me because she just launched a brand new website and she needed updated and fresh photography that represented her and her work authentically.

“Authentic” is one of these keywords that I consistently hear from my clients week in and week out, people are always telling me that they need to make sure that their photos do not look like ai and that they look and feel authentic to who they really are.

This is great for me because this is what I love doing and what really gives my work meaning, authentically representing people and their work in the world.

Paige and I did a pre-production meeting where we planned her photoshoot out very specifically. One big thing I focus on during these calls is how to create variation, this can make one photoshoot appear like multiple photoshoots making one photoshoot more valuable for my clients and giving them lots of content to use across all of their different marketing platforms, their website, social media, linkedIN, Instagram etc…. etc… etc…

The two biggest ways my clients and I work together to create variety is through different locations and wardrobe, we plan these things out carefully and purposefully, and this makes all of the difference during the actual day of the photoshoot.

Paige knew she really wanted to use the Boise River Greenbelt, and we decided to also use Boise Urban Studio, Push and Pour (thank you to the Push and Pour owners for graciously letting us use their location), and the Boise Foothills.

One of my favorite moments during the photoshoot was watching Paige interact with her clients. We put together a circle including both clients and friends of Paige in front of Push and Pour, and I could truly see the way Paige had impacted her clients and the way they were thanking her for her help.

Grief is something that we cannot escape life without, and it is complex and unique to everyone, it’s something that feels like we should never have to experience it, and it is our reality. I find meaning in working with clients who are passionate about their work and what they offer the world, and I loved working with Paige, getting to know her and hearing her story and creating work that will help support her business and work in the world.

Paige, thank you for trusting me with this photoshoot.
