Boise Branding Photographer | Branding Session for a Local Musician
I absolutely loved planning and producing this branding photoshoot for local Boise musician Brandon Greenway and I’m really excited about the work that we created together for him to promote himself with.
Brandon, his girlfriend Jenna and I, together planned out this photoshoot. We wanted to make sure the photos were really authentic to Brandon and aligned with his brand so he would feel really confident using them for marketing.
Brandon and Jenna sent me some sample images they like and as we talked about the look and feel they wanted from the photoshoot, we together we decided to use JUMP and the Boise River Greenbelt in Downtown Boise for our two locations and include a large variety of outfits which is one of the things that helps one photoshoot to be more useful for a longer period of time.
I love that we were able to create so much variety with two locations so close to each other, I think this is something really special about Boise.
We started out at Jack’s Urban Meeting place and I’ve done quite a few photoshoots there and they’re so generous to allow me to take photos there, and I absolutely love the textures, the light and the light shapes at Jump. If you’re familiar with JUMP you know what an interesting building it is and all of those shapes and structures make for interesting and dynamic lighting.
I have to say I thought black and white images really fit Brandon’s brand well.
Also his Luna guitar is so gorgeous, I’m no guitar expert but I’ve never quite seen one like it.
This light is so cool, and I think really striking with Brandon looking directly at the camera. You’ll notice I used this light in a lot of different ways.
As I brainstormed and envisioned this photoshoot, this was one photo I pictured, I knew we could get downtown Boise in the background and Brandon in the foreground. This image is my favorite from this series, but there’s another one with him in focus that I like too, but something dreamy and cool about him out of focus and the city in focus in the background.
Next we headed to the Boise River Greenbelt at Julia Davis Park. We did a few photos close to our cars on Friendship Bridge, I loved how the sunlight looked and felt, we actually rescheduled this photoshoot twice due to the weather and wanting to get the right light, so I was really grateful to have such a beautiful and perfect evening, it was worth the wait.
Next Brandon changed into a new outfit (VARIATION!) and we headed over Friendship Bridge to the south side of the Greenbelt and into the woods there. The river level was still very high, so we couldn’t get as close to the river as we’d hoped, but it still made for such a beautiful location.
Check out how beautiful this sunset light is, absolutely worth the wait…
And lastly, we headed back to Friendship Bridge, I wanted to play with the lines on the bridge a bit, but wanted to wait until it was a bit slower on the bridge, I try to not be obnoxious to the general public as a photographer, so I saved this part until the very end, and I like how the lines on the bridge worked for us.
Brandon and Jenna, thanks so much for trusting me with this photoshoot. So wonderful meeting and working with you both and I really love what we created together.
Brandon will be playing at Crescent Brewery in Nampa on July 10th, click here to follow him on Instagram and stay updated for his show dates.
