Boise Commercial Photographer – Marketing & Business Photography

This branding photoshoot in the Boise Foothills has some of my favorite lighting of all time.

Golden hour in the Boise foothills is truly something spectacular and magical, and there’s a reason I put so much effort into pre-production and planning to ensure we get amazing light like this on my photoshoots.

Connor is a local media producer in Boise, his company is John Connor Media and they specialize in videography work.

Connor came to me because he needed photos to use for his social media and website, he wanted a lifestyle branding photoshoot and he wanted the photos to be authentic and natural.

We chose two different spots in the Boise foothills for our locations because of the golden light at sunset, the warm and neutral colors and textures that the foothills offers, the open space to work with (see the photos with his van) and because it’s a relaxing and natural environment to be in with all kinds of possibilities. The exact location we used is amazing for sunset, and one that I’ve never seen anyone else use on photoshoots, but due to the positioning of the foothills, this location let’s me basically play with the sunset lighting for much longer than other locations.

We also kept the photoshoot really natural, focused around movement and getting real photos of Connor doing the things he really does in his business, using his cameras, working from his laptop in his van, holding his drone, etc…

Also Connor’s jacket from Topo Designs gave such great texture and matched the color palette perfectly.

These types of lifestyle moments not only feel authentic and real (because they are), but they truly perform better on social media and websites because they give people a felt sense of who a person really is and in Connor’s case a sense of what it’s like to work with him on a project.

We built Connor a strong and consistent branding content library of photography for him to use across his website and social media platforms.
