Boise Branding Photography Session for an SEO Web Design Agency

Surge Web Design is a local SEO web design and development company. Their president and co-founder Natalie reached out to me about doing a branding photoshoot for her team in Boise. On our discovery call we talked about what they were looking for and Natalie mentioned that they’d never done an in depth photoshoot and that it was time for them to do one.

Natalie’s priorities were making sure the photos were authentic, consistent and that we created the content that they actually need for running and marketing their web design company. She also expressed that she wanted to make sure her team had a great experience and that they were nervous about doing a photoshoot. I made sure to reassure her and let her know that I hear this all the time and that I’d lead them through the photoshoot and make sure they had a great experience.

Like most of my clients Natalie also wanted a large variety of content, and to me this is what branding work entails. She wanted lifestyle photography, headshots, team photos and b-roll video content.

One of the biggest ways to create variety on a photoshoot is to use multiple locations. Natalie and I brainstormed and decided we wanted a location with a conference room, so I started researching to see what I could find. After checking all of my sources, and finding mediocre locations, I put up an Instagram story asking if anyone knew of a great location for rent with a conference room. I quickly got a response from TJ Pierce, owner of Boise Mid-Century Homes a client of mine and he generously offered for us to use their beautiful office on State Street. I was so excited and grateful too, the Mid-Century Homes office is beautifully designed and decorated and gets great light too.

We decided to use Jack’s Urban Meeting Place in downtown Boise as a second location to give us variation, more outdoor options and to give us photos with the city of Boise in the background.

I did a half day branding photoshoot for Surge Web Design, so once we had our locations decided and our timeline, I ran light simulations to decide what location to use when, we landed on using Boise Mid-Century Homes first followed by Jump downtown.

I had such a fun day behind the camera with the Surge Web Design team, they were so fun and kind to work with and I’m proud of the work that we created together.

Natalie, thank you so much for trusting me with this project!
