Boise Branding Photographer | Lifestyle Photoshoot for a Children’s Clothing Brand
A Boise branding photographer shares a lifestyle branding photoshoot for a children’s clothing brand in the Boise foothills at sunset. This outdoor brand session features custom designed apparel and commercial imagery created for print marketing and event signage to help local businesses sell and promote their products in person.
I worked with Cloudroom, an incredible custom children’s clothing brand on a lifestyle branding photoshoot in the Boise foothills at the very best time of day, sunset. This outdoor brand session focused on custom-designed clothing and natural and authentic story-driven imagery created specifically for marketing and brand growth across multiple platforms (web, social, and event & retail signage).
I sourced two different models for the branding photoshoot, and anytime you’re working with children you know things don’t always go according to plan, so in the end I actually had to source a third model after one of our young models refused to wear the Cloudroom clothes for the photoshoot :). As a dad myself I completely understood and I would never want a child to be photographed against their will.
I will never get tired of the Boise Foothills at sunset for photoshoots. The low sunlight is so beautiful and dreamy and the desert terrain reflects a lot of light, which creates a great combination for producing unique lifestyle photos.
I love Cloudroom’s approach to children’s clothing, the CEO Kate finds different artists to create custom designs for each clothing drop. The name of this design is Bugland and this was the second project that I worked with Cloudroom on and it was so much fun. I always know that my values and style both align very well with this brand, so I can photograph very naturally and intuitively which I love.
I’ll let the photos tell the rest of the story, but if you need a branding photography session for your business, click here to contact me, I’d love to talk and see if I could be a good fit.
Adventure Lifestyle archery hunting Photography in the Sawtooth Mountains | Stanley Idaho Tourism PhotoShoot
Back in mid-September I spent a full day working for The Stanley Sawtooth Chamber of Commerce up in the beautiful Sawtooth Mountains. The Sawtooths are truly one of my favorite places in Idaho and for that matter in the world. Part of planning these adventure tourism photoshoots is planning really well around the light, which is tricky because of the big jagged mountains in all directions, but I have some incredible tools that allow me to see exactly what the light is going to be like, even when I’m planning all the way down in Boise.
Typically on these shoots for the Stanley Chamber I work with anywhere from 5-8+ businesses per full day of photography. The chamber and I together have developed a system that works really well for us to make sure we maximize the variation of content we create on any given day.
I started the morning off at sunrise with a lifestyle archery hunting photoshoot at an undisclosed top secret location :), with an amazing view of The Sawtooth Mountains.
Scott with Idaho Rocky Mountain Ranch, the archer in these photos and I 4x4’d our way up a steep hill in an electric Polaris side by side before sunrise, for this spectacular view of the Sawtooths. The morning was cool and crisp, and the light was incredible.
One of my favorite thing about doing these photoshoots for Stanley, and really all photoshoots, is the awesome people I get to meet and spend time with. Scott was so great and generous with his time, and I was only able to use this amazing location because of him (but he did say it is available to use on other commercial photoshoots, so if you’re interested in using it, hit me up).
We shared stories of our mountain biking crashes and broken bones as we wandered around taking photos in the hills with this spectacular background.
I’ll let the photos tell the story from here, but for reference we were able to take all of these photos (and more) in only 45 minutes, excellent planning makes all of the difference.
Tremendous thank you to Scott for his generosity on his time and helping me figure out an amazing location and thank you to the Stanley Sawtooth Chamber of Commerce for trusting me with this project.

Boise Business Photographer | ā café
I'm always so excited to see new cafe's open in Boise. Before I started my business I worked in a cafe in the Portland area, and now (well, pre-covid) I basically use a few different cafe's in Boise as my office (so I still "work in cafe's, so needless to say, a good cafe feels like home in all kinds of ways.
I heard about ā café from Robyn Salathe of MA Architect Studio, Robyn is the architect that the cafe owners worked with. Robyn and I met for coffee at the ā café and I was blown away by how beautiful the space was. Simple minimalist design, a garage door open to the street, food and drinks made with quality ingredients and care. I knew I'd be back here a lot.
Robyn also introduced me to Ashley the owner and she felt like someone I've always known, she was fun and easy to talk to and was always so kind every time I came in. Fast forward awhile, a lot of cups of coffee, and 3/4ths of a year in a global pandemic, and Ashley mentioned she needed to do a photoshoot, of course I was already all in on that. We did a shoot late in 2020, and after that shoot I designed them a new website, (which we launched today!!! ), and helped implement to-go ordering (using square for restaurants, which I now have mixed reviews of). Two of my highest values are relationships and creating things, so I loved creating and collaborating with the ā café crew to create something beautiful that helps meet their goals. Below is a screen shot of the new website, as well as a collection of the images from our shoot. Thank you Ashley and team for trusting me with this project! Also a shoutout to Broadcast Coffee, the coffee ā café serves, who is about to open a brand new shop in Boise, can't wait for it to open!
